Summative Assessment
The project culminates in the artifact, the model building with the integrated circuit. This model combined with the presentation is an excellent way to see and measure what the students have learned. Please see the rubric that will be used to evaluate the final artifact below.

Example of Strong and Weak Artifact
Strong Artifact: Successfully integrates the model building with the circuit. Both building and electrical circuit blueprint are updated. The building blueprint has everything correctly labeled and scaled. The electrical circuit blueprint has every electrical circuit component labeled with its value next to it. The group is able to explain nearly all of the points in the presentation to a satisfactory level. There were no safety concerns while working on this project.
Weak Artifact: The model building is successfully integrated with the circuit. Aesthetics could be a better. The building and electrical circuit blueprint and correctly updated. Almost all components of the building blueprint is labeled and scaled correctly. The electrical circuit blueprint is missing some circuit components and/or the values are incorrect. The group fails to explain the presentation points to a satisfactory level.

Performance Tasks and Formative Assessments
There are performance tasks scattered throughout the project unit. Please see the benchmarks and formative assessments in the "Investigations and Benchmark Lessons" tab.
Self Evaluation
Students will be given the opportunity to give, receive, and respond to feedback in multiple ways. Each group will meet with the teacher for a formal review of what they are doing. Experts will come in before the project date and give feedback. Students will also be given the opportunity to see other projects from other teams and give feedback to them. Students are expected to evaluate the feedback given and implement it or explain why they have chosen not to implement the feedback.
